PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Takes Charge as ACC President

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has officially taken charge as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), succeeding Sri Lanka’s Shammi Silva.
Naqvi, who was elected PCB Chairman in February 2024, expressed his gratitude for the appointment:
"Asia remains the heartbeat of world cricket, and I am committed to working with all member boards to accelerate the game's growth and global influence. Together, we will unlock new opportunities, foster greater collaboration, and take Asian cricket to unprecedented heights."
Silva, who held the position for just three months after Jay Shah resigned to take up the ICC chair, expressed confidence in Naqvi’s leadership:
"It has been a privilege to serve as President of the Asian Cricket Council. The steadfast commitment of our member boards has been pivotal in elevating the ACC's stature across the region."
One of Naqvi’s key challenges as ACC President will be finalizing the venue for the T20 Asia Cup later this year, with Pakistan expected to demand a neutral venue for its matches.
